Cookies!

Last week I encountered a strange problem. I was not able to open few of my favourite websites like timesofindia, yahoomail, times etc.. ( Luckily i could open google sites :)) The page would just simply not load, even if i left the system open for hours.. My day was severely boring without them... I was afraid of a virus attack ,as my system's anti-virus had expired.

I tried the following:

1. There was just 3G space left in my Hard disk. Cleared all the unwanted data , loaded required ones into DVD's, used a disk defrag tool to free up space in my hard disk. Freed about 50% of the space.
2. Removed the local host address 127.0.0.1 from HOSTS.
3. Run--> cmd--> ipconfig/flushdns

( I got these ideas when i googled for my problem)

But nothing worked. I could not even format my laptop, as I don't have OS DVD.

When was I worried, as to what next, I cleared all the cookies and restarted the system..

Yippie!!! It worked!! I could browse all of my favourite sites now and was happy that the solution was so simple!!

So, any of you encounter the same problem, just follow what I did :)

A day with Migraine

Ahhh!! I can see so many yuumy and mouthwatering dishes arranged on the table.. I am standing so close to them, yet am not able to touch them.. I bend and still am not able to reach them....

I turn my side and realise that it was a dream... And i also feel the pain in my head.... As i wake up from dream and wake up for a new day, i realise tat i have a terrible headache and am terribly hungry :(

I bend down to brush my teeth, the pain shifts to the front.. I turn , pain shifts to the side... But i also have to cook for my hubby who shouldd not be late for work because of me.... Every moment i am experiencing throbbing pain in my head...

Migranes are caused for a variety of reasons... Indigestion, Hunger, stress, Anger, Icecream, Lack of sleep, Oversleep, for doing something that we do not like so on and so forth... I was cursing muself for not eating full the previous night..Though i had had 2 pavs , custard and banana, i was still not full as i had not anything in the afternoon.

I knew the cause for my migraine , i knew the cure as well. I had to eat.. But i bieng a home maker had to cook myself.. How much i miss not bieng at home in such sitautions.. I am toasting the bread and yawning as well.. I have yawned as amny as 50 times in jus 2 hrs !!! I am waiting for my husband to leave so that i can eat my bfast and throw myself to bed...

After bidding good bye to my husband , i finished my breakfastfast a couple of minutes, as if i had not eaten for over weeks... Now i am feeling more sleepy and not able to control the flow of tears in my eyes... i also made sure to put my cell in silent mode, so as not be woken up by any calls.. I said goodbye to everyone in chat and applied a thick layer of Mentho plus and the moment i jumped to bed, i was asleeep...

I slept for about 2 hrs and i m very hungry.. Grabbed something to eat and took a shower.. Howmuchever i ate i still felt hungry and had this feeling of emptiness in stomach whole day. I do not wish this headache even for my worst enemy...

A visit to Roosevelt Island

Saturday was one of the happiest day of my life in recent times.

As usual Saturday started late for us and there was a lot of confusion as to how to spend Saturday evening. Our favourite places include roaming in New York, going to bowling, playing in D&B. I have gone to these places so many times that the names of these places make me feel bored. The weather looked fine ( 11 deg) , we decided to go to Pier 17 for a walk. After landing there we realized that , it was a day before St.Patrick's Day and there was a lot of crowd. We two couples were ready to explore new places where 2 bachelors in our group wanted to go to a movie .I am sick of going to movies after coming here as i literally watch every movie that is released here :)) . Finally we decided to go to Roosevelt Island in New York. We decided to go there by tram. ( Though , it may sound stupid, i did not know what a tram was!!)

We took an express train to New York and reached 59th street and 2nd avenue. Then came the surprise for me. I had imagined tram to be a railroad ( roadtrain) in US, as i had heard of trams in Kolkotha. When i saw the tram, i realized it was a cable car( Rope way)!!!!!! There was no bound for my happiness. I never imagined tram to be a cable car. When we were up in the air in the tram, the view of upper Manhattan, the island ,and the river was very beuatiful. The cars on the road appeared like toys. The feeling you get in the stomach while the tram descends is just beyond the words to explain and i love it!! ( That is the reason i love merry-go-round even though it is nauseating)

The island is long , but very narrow. It is just about 2-3 blocks wide. On one side you have Queens and on the other is the Manhattan. It is a very quite place and we saw children playing in the basketball court, couples taking a stroll. It's a wonderful place to live in. It's a place just very close to city yet far away from it. The place was so peaceful and it was just 3 minutes from Manhattan.People visiting New York must come to this place.

We decided to go back as it was getting dark. I and my friend were hell bent on going back in tram though the other guys were suggesting to take subway train. As the tram ride came to an end, i was very reluctant to get down and decided to come to this place whenever we needed a change.
